By Road:

The drive to Carn Du takes 4.5 hours from London. Take the M4 to Bristol, then the M5 to Exeter,then A30 to Penzance. From Penzance take the main road around the bay to Newlyn. Upon crossing the bridge take the road for Lamorna up Chywoone Hill ahead of you, passing Lewis Chicken and Chip shop on your left out of Newlyn. Follow this road through the village Sheffield before taking a left turn signed to Raginnis. Turn left again at another signpost marked Raginnis, pass through this small hamlet and proceed down the hill bearing left past Porth Enys and a couple of cottages and the entrance for Carn Du is a few hundred yards on the left hand side. The address is: Carn Du, Raginnis Hill, Mousehole, Cornwall TR19 6SS.

By Rail:

The London Paddington to Penzance mainline ends overlooking Mount’s Bay just yards from the sea. Take a taxi from here to the house. Alternatively, Europcar is just opposite the station if you prefer to hire a car. For your return journey if to London, the Riviera sleeper service departs Penzance late, pulling in at the Heathrow Express platform of Paddington station around 5.30 am, disembarkation can be as late as 7.00 am. Booked in advance this can be a very economical journey in your own sleeper berth.
